There will be a food distribution today Tuesday June 11th at Trinity United Church parking lot. 808 Carpenter Ave 8 a.m til noon.
We would like to thank the kids from Iron Mountain High Schools Community Involvement Class for the help they provided us this semester! Pictured in front Zoey Spera, left to right:Andie Ellis, Hannah Proudfit..Salvation Army employees, Tara Blagec, and Jennifer Witte....a great bunch of kids who made our days fun while getting the work done!
Spent some time showing some awesome visitors our agency. Rich and Beth from the V.A. brought guests from Colorado and Illinois. We had a wonderful visit and were able to provide insight about the work we do and to the great community partnership we have with the V.A.
We will not forget the sacrifice others have made for us!

We would like to thank our local postal carriers, volunteers and community members who donated to this year's Stamp Out Hunger. Our once nearly bare pantry shelves are now restocked! Thank you all for Doing the Most Good!
Tomorrow May 11th postal carriers will not just be delivering mail...they are also Doing the Most Good and collecting pantry items. Please help if you can in our fight to Stamp Out Hunger. Just place items by your mailbox!
Postal carriers, pantry volunteers and many other dedicated community volunteers will be collecting food items for area pantries. If you are able to purchase any additional items to donate to this amazing event, we and the other pantries will greatly appreciate it. The collection date is Saturday, May 11th.
Thank you everyone for your patience if you experienced issues voting for the Flagstar grant giveaway. We learned that there were issues with their site which have now been resolved so please please please vote! This is a wonderful opportunity and there are 3 great very dedicated to community choices and all are very deserving!!!

Thank you everyone who assisted us with this year's Point in Time count. The conduction of the count came across zero individuals who were unsheltered on the night of the count which was Jan. 30th, 2019 and 6 who were sheltered which is classified as anyone staying in a place with beds provided for the homeless. This does not include the number of those staying at our local domestic violence shelter as we are awaiting that number. Our information will be forwarded and recorded which will make our community of Dickinson/ Iron compliant with the federal mandate, so thank you to all who have participated.
Tonight we will be out conducting the Point in Time homeless count which is a federally mandated count conducted in several counties. If you are aware of a place which is acting as a shelter for an Individual or family but is not a place meant for human habitation please call the office, you will remain anonymous to report the location so it can be checked and if someone is out in the elements they can be helped. 779-5715.
Please bundle up if you need to go somewhere. The weather may seem tolerable but can and will cause damage if you are out to long and not appropriately dressed.
